St. Alphonsus is one of four Catholic Elementary Schools within the Christ the Teacher Catholic School Division #212 located in the city of Yorkton. St. Mary’s, St. Michael’s and St. Paul’s are the three remaining elementary schools, and high school age students attend Sacred Heart High School. Also within our school division are St. Henry’s Junior and St. Henry’s Senior in the city of Melville, as well as, St. Theodore in the town of Theodore. St. Alphonsus School is located at 81 Henderson Street East. The school, along with her sister school, St. Mary’s, were the first Catholic Elementary Schools in Yorkton – opening their doors in 1959. Rev. Sister Geraldine O.S.U. (Ursuline Sisters of Prelate) served as the school’s first principal. Presently, St. Alphonsus School is a Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 8 educational facility that serves the north and northwest areas of Yorkton. St. Al’s offers complete Saskatchewan Core Curriculum programming supplemented with special programs to meet the spiritual, academic and extra-curricular needs of our students.
